Major Purpose of Job: Support Sharepoint Operations and provide upgrade assistance 

Job Functions:

-Contract personnel will be called upon to support and perform complex maintenance of existing programs and systems under the direction of a Project Manager or Leader. The contract personnel should have extensive expertise in designing, coding, and testing various software applications in the Microsoft Development Environment with strong Sharepoint expertise and be competent to perform all programming assignments without close supervision, in any of the following technical areas,

·        Sharepoint Administration

·        Sharepoint Designer

·        Visual Studio .Net

·        Oracle Data Provider for .Net

·        Ado.net

·        ASP

·        MS SQL Server

·        Windows System Operations/Programming

·        Powershell

Solid understanding of business needs and requirements with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously is required as well as the ability to work well in coordinated teams. 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate

·         superior oral and written communication skills,

·         the ability to work both independently and as a contributing member of a team supporting project manager requests,

·         proficiency in Sharepoint 2007 operations, and

·         proficiency in SQL Server 2005/2008 development (tsql)

·         proficiency in Windows Server operations including task management and scripting

and be required to successfully

·         maintain SharePoint Security,

·         troubleshoot any SharePoint problems,

·         monitor SharePoint farm performance indicators,

·         support Analysts working with SharePoint,

·         interface with the SharePoint Developer,

·         maintain SharePoint documentation on ADMIN site,

·         learn and use a variety of admin and troubleshooting/installation tools,

·         monitor server event logs,

·         check search crawl logs,

·         test and apply SharePoint service packs and cumulative updates,

·         delete IIS logs from c:\inetpub\logs\logfiles,

·         test any SharePoint farm configuration changes on dev first, then move to prod and failover farms,

·         deploy any new custom features or solutions,

·         recommend and document Sharepoint Best Practices,

·         monitor disk drive space on all servers,

·         monitor all SharePoint farm servers online status,and

              ·         install SharePoint 2010 and test
