Position: QA Tester
Location: Alexandria,
VA
Duration: 6+Months
Job Description:
Supports testing activities for complex IT projects
(realtime, data driven web/internet client facing applications), work closely
with project team members, and support the evolution of the systems testing
methodology/discipline.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
•
Support the testing activities for multiple, sometimes complex, application
development and enhancement projects and infrastructure upgrade and
implementation projects Work with the project team members, creating and
executing test cases, and documenting results.
•
Support the evolution of the systems testing practice, to provide consistency
in delivering quality systems for all MSRB system implementations.
•
Work closely with business/systems analysts to maximize efficiencies in
executing tests.
•
Leverage automated testing tools (Selenium and a couple homegrown ) to
construct effective functional, performance and regression test suites.
•
Minimum 4 years of experience in all phases of systems and application
development, with a concentration in systems testing. Experienced testing
engineer on complex releases. Experience in multiple systems development
methodologies preferred. Experience with automated testing tools preferred. Strong
SQL skills (Searching across DB’s, joins, SQL Queries/statements, testing and
verifying data) and back end testing is preferred. Experience in the
development and maintenance of systems development methodology standards and
practices preferred, with an emphasis in the testing practices.
•
Strong knowledge of IT best practices; knowledge of the financial services
industry and municipal securities market preferred. Ability to communicate
effectively at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail and follow-up is essential. Ability to be flexible and
handle stressful situations is essential. Ability to take initiative on
assigned projects/tasks and work with minimal supervision.
