The Sr. Project Manager supports the Strategic Planning department, on a cross-functional initiative designed to separate and automate the operational metrics data.
Qualified individual must possess 5-10 years of Data/Technology Project Management experience, particularly related to Business Intelligence projects.
Responsibilities for this position will include, but not limited to:
• Manages a cross functional team to ensure tasks are well planned, including assignment of resources and responsibilities, appropriate mitigation of risks and delivery of key milestones.
• Develops and maintains the detailed project plans including assignments, milestones, schedules and budgets.
• Ensures project budgets are properly estimated and controlled; provides overall financial recommendations, and develop controls and measurements to monitor progress.
• Develops monthly accruals and forecasts by the due date established by Finance using the tools developed by Finance
• Organizes project team members to ensure communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments and objectives.
• Assigns team members to steps and monitors the team progress against the plan.
• Conducts scheduled periodic meetings with the project team, co-ordinates with the stakeholders with respect to scope changes and is responsible for developing and managing change control processes and procedures.
• Manages costs, schedules and quality by overseeing project deliverables. Ensures schedule and budget are met. Identifies need for changes and revises within established guidelines/policies as appropriate.
• Performs ongoing review of project status; identifies project risks. Develops, recommends and implements risk mitigation solutions as approved and as appropriate.
• Interfaces with team members and stakeholders to anticipate and manage changes to projects such as but not limited to, technical requirements, business requirements and schedule. Determines when additional resources are needed and implements same.
• Determines need for and impact of changes in scope of project and makes recommendation based on determinations. Gains concurrence, approval, and consensus from stakeholders regarding the various project aspects, adjusts accordingly (e.g., project schedule).
• Facilitates delivery and documentation of key project milestones.
• Follows established project management framework and guidelines;
• Updates management on project status and measures of success;
• Ensures operational readiness transition for production support.
The following background and skills are required:
• Superior communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively, clearly and transparently to a variety of audiences (Technical, Business and Sr. Management).
• Strong general knowledge of healthcare industry.
• Expertise in Project Management best practices and planning processes
• Ability to work closely with a wide range of professionals across the organization. May involve direct work with external clients.
Qualifications:
• Must possess Bachelor’s Degree with 5-10 years of demonstrated project management experience, particularly related to Business Intelligence large scale projects.
• Strong management skills, including planning, monitoring, escalation, and reporting;
• Experience with data management and knowledge of market data and technologies.
• Proficient with ETL, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Tools.
• PMP certification required.
