Participate in all aspects of Sybase DBA work related to upgrading the current Sybase platforms from version 12 to version 15.
Responsible for project planning, scheduling, testing and coordinating with all stakeholders and constituencies.
Provide support to developers to resolve performance problems including analysis of SQL, Transact-SQL, and JDBC code.
Responsible to resolve all issues related to version upgrade
Setup all environments for the upgrade project and perform all required testing including performance and DR testing according to IFC guideline.
Ensure database is configured according to IFC security guideline
Prepare documentation for the upgrade project as well as collect testing evidence
Coordinate with all stake holders and constituencies for production migration
Resolve all issues related to database upgrade

Required skills:

- Technical four year degree, preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering or associate degree and equivalent experience.
- Proficient programming in C language using Sybase OpenClient and scripting languages such as Korn, C shell or Perl.
- 7+ years of Sybase 12 database administration in production environment.
- Experience in installing Sybase, upgrading version 12 to Version 15, creating DB raw disk devices and configuring database servers.
- Troubleshooting and monitoring using Sybase sysmon, dbcc and UNIX commands and utilities.
- Performance tuning of applications and capacity planning.
- Account management and access control.
- Experience in Project Management
- Strong experience using Sybase Replication server.
- Experience coding of stored procedure and triggers using SQL.
- Experience working on UNIX and Windows platforms.
- Experience with at least one Business Intelligence product, such as Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Brio, Oracle Discoverer.
