Job Description:

·         Experience developing ASP.NET web applications using Visual Studio 2008; 2010 preferred

·         Experienced / comfortable with the level of documentation and organizational processes typical of government work

·         Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently when required

·         Excellent verbal and written skills, particularly when communicating technical issues with a non-technical audience

·         2+ years experience working with MS SQL Server, 2005 or higher

·         1+ years experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2005, or a later version

·         1+ years developing with Web services; WCF preferred

·         Experience using .NET 3.5 or higher, ASP.NET and Web services

·         Ability to work within a Waterfall SDLC environment

·         Experience developing in high-availability environments, e.g. web farm and SQL cluster.

·         Experience using Source control (IBM Rational products preferred, e.g. Rational Team Concert (RTC) or RQM)

·         ASP.NET Custom Control development

·         Experience with Object Oriented Programming methodologies

·         Ability to reverse-engineer (understand) Procedural style code

·         Experience working in a Load Balanced environment (Web Farm)

Description:

The Senior Java Engineering role is to create and maintain J2EE based applications in a multi-team and multi-tiered environment. The Senior Java Engineer individual is expected to have vast experience in the creation of Web based J2EE applications including User Interfaces, Business and Domain Objects, Servlets, EJBs, JPA, and MDB development. In addition, this individual is expected to have excellent database SQL experience working with databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB/2 and other RDBMS type databases.

The senior Java Engineer should have extensive experience in building Web and Java Enterprise applications using one or more of the web and application servers such as Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic, and/or Oracle Application Servers.

This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve system and application development principles and paradigms in order to maximize the benefit of IT development investments.

Requirements:

·         5 plus years of experience in developing Java/J2EE applications.

·         Strong knowledge of Core Java development (J2SE).

·         Strong knowledge programming Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application and services.

·         Experience with Struts and Spring frameworks.

·         Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.

·         Extensive knowledge in object oriented design, design patterns, and best practices.

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge in the following technologies is required:
