Position: QA Engineer
Location:SanJose, CA
Duration:6+ Months

Job Description

• Work as an individual contributor with support from lead

• Hands on in analyzing product development design and articulate expected testing approach

• Produces test that provide sufficient test coverage for areas of responsibility

• Interfaces with other functional teams on aspects of the feature or sub-system

• Frequently interfaces with QA and Dev team members

• Write data-driven, white box/API test automation

• Maintain and create new automated test cases using C++/Java/Python/Perl/Shell

• Be proactive to learn any new technology relevant to assigned task

Required Skills:

• BS in EE/CS with minimum of 2 years (or MS) experience in fast-paced software industry with an understanding of QA methodologies.

• Must have programming experience in Java, C++, Perl or Python

• Strong understanding of database concepts

• Must be an expert in UNIX and SQL

• Ability to come up with test scenarios and write test plans and test cases

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong team player

• Working knowledge of front-end and back-end applications

• Ability to document and track defects, as well as produce detailed reports using defect tracking tools

• Familiarity with software development lifecycles

• Solid knowledge of web applications.

·         SOA Frame Work (Service Oriented Architecture)

·         Two (2) or more years of demonstrated experience in data analysis, data manipulation, and decision support

·         Knowledge and application of relational database concepts

·         Experience or exposure to Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) and/or Business Intelligence

·         Skilled at completing technical design via iterative mockups

·         High proficiency in MS Office Suite (esp. Word and Excel)

·         Openness to learning new skills and software as necessary

·         Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous work flows while maintaining quality output and meeting deadlines

Preferred Experience

·         Experience with Informatica

·         Healthcare industry background

·         Experience working in an SOA framework

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate at different levels of the organization

·         Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of decision-making, data preparation, and processes.
