Position: Oracle DBA with 10g or 11g certification
Location : DC.
Duration : 1 year
Citzen, GC or EAD or H1 transfer only.
F2F is Must
Duties include:
Provide Project Management in Database Service Delivery in supporting new projects as well as database and application upgrade projects.
Provide technical and architectural support to new and enhancement projects
Establish and ensure compliance to standard hand-over processes from Application Delivery (AD) to Production Support.
Responsible for project planning, scheduling and coordinating with all working parties.
Responsible for carrying out risk assessment; identifying dependencies; evaluating implementation options; determining resources requirement and recommending implementation strategy.
Work closely with Service Delivery team to effect change control and determine server environments and capacity planning
Interact with business unit application owners to identify performance issue; upgrading issue as well as end-user issues.
Interact with Web administrators and developers to define schema views and back-end data feeds.
Interact with Security administrators and DBAs to implement security standards and to enforce security best practices.
Required Skills:
Technical four year degree, preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
Deep knowledge of Oracle internals and administration.
Experience with major Oracle upgrades for complex applications.
Minimum of five years of Oracle database administration in production environment.
Experience maintaining databases in segregated development, test and production environments.
Experience implementing Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions
Product Installation, release maintenance, creation of devices and server configuration.
Troubleshooting and monitoring using Oracle and/or third party tools.
Performance tuning of applications and capacity planning.
Proven ability to develop scripts to automate frequent administration tasks.
Account management.
Coding of stored procedure and triggers.
Experience working on UNIX and NT platforms.
Ability to work in a team of people with diverse international cultural background
Ability to train and mentor junior staff.
A quick learner with strong system / database administration principles acquired through a work experience of minimum of 8 years, five of which should be administering ORACLE database Servers. The experience should be in medium/large organizations having segregated development, test, and production environments.
Proficient programming in a scripting language such as Korn, C shell or Perl
Desired skills:
Familiarity with Middle tier environments a plus.
ORACLE DBA certification in 10g/11g from ORACLE Corporation
Experience in Database Backup and recovery using RMAN
Experience in ORACLE application server administration
Experience in Oracle RAC / ASM technologies
Experience with Version control software is plus
Experience with Sybase or MS SQL Server a plus.
Experience with ETL tools like Informatica
Exposure to BI tools like COGNOS
IBM MQ Series server administration
