Title: MySQL DBA
Location: Vermont Ave. N.W., Washington DC 2005

Interview process: Phone screen followed by in-person (out of state candidates can be interviewed over SKYPE)

MySQL Query performance optimization
5+ years MySQL experience, including creation and maintenance of databases.
Experience setting up and maintaining MySQL Replication
Query performance tuning and optimization experience.
Creation and maintenance of MySQL databases in support of Web base applications.
Design, develop, implement, and maintain database replication in a geographically disperse environment.
Performance tunes MySQL databases for optimal application response times.
Document design, performance, replication, and backup procedures and standards.
Reviews and oversees database environment activity and volume. Highlights issues for concern such as, lack of appropriate resources and ensures that appropriate corrections are implemented.
Reviews and performs complex analyses of DBMS products and features regarding their impact on database performance. Researches hardware and software products, recommends solutions and implements approved products.
Manage MySQL in production/QA/development environments including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, upgrades, schema changes, etc.
Design and Implement monitoring, auditing and alert systems for MySQL databases
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with MySQL
Design, implement, maintain and automate the appropriate backup and recovery architecture required
Work with various teams for performance tuning and optimization, query optimization, index tuning, caching, buffer tuning, etc.
Must Have Skills:
8 years of IT industry experience of which minimum 5+ years of MySQL DBA work in a high-volume, high-impact transactional environment. Must have production environment experience and experience in the following areas:
· Replication
· High availability (HA)
· Load balancing
· Query optimization
· Schema design
· Disaster recovery
Candidates should have the ability to develop scripts in order to automate database tasks.
