Position: Sr. Java Developer/Architect
Location: Woodlawn (Baltimore), MD
Rate: DOE
Description: long-term contract opportunity
Responsibilities:

·          The Senior Java/Web Services Programmer shall have extensive experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting applications and computer/network operating system and other system software. 
·          Has prime accountability for major projects and will develop detailed and robust requirements, code, test, and implement proposed systems.  
·          Hands-on experience with projects supporting Service Oriented Architecture principles. 
·          Works without technical oversight or as the leader of a team as required.  
·          May serve as a Work Order Manager or Back-up Work Order Manager. 
·          Shall also possess strong oral and written communications skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables to SSA counter parts.

Requirements:

·               Experience with J2EE technologies such as Core Java, JSP, EJB, JDBC, JMS, WASD, Web sphere, RAD and Servlets.
·               Experience with one or more Enterprise Architecture Frameworks such as Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), Zachman or TOGAF Frameworks.
·               Experience with UML. Knowledge of design patterns.
·               Delivering at least two SOA Enterprise-level Projects including at least one involving legacy systems.
·               Experience with J2EE Framework/ORM such as Struts and Hibernate.
·               Solid OOD/OOP foundation with experience in UML diagramming and design documentation.
·               Database experience such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, SQL and JDBC.
·               Strong XML processing experience such as XSD, XPath, XSL, XSLT, etc.
·               Experience with JavaScript, HTML, SSL.
·               Experience with complex programming, program debugging, data analysis, problem analysis and resolution issues within OO application systems.
·               Communication skills to present ideas and concepts effectively; strong and proven problem solving.
·               Self-managed with the ability to mentor others.
·               Familiarity with project management frameworks.
·               Familiar with Rational Unified Process, CMM/CMMI.
·               Familiar with MS Project and Visio.
·               Familiarity with IT Governance frameworks.

Education:

·          An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with 11 years of professional experience. We can consider candidates with Business, Math, or Engineering degrees but there must be a related IT focus.
