**Must have solid Java skills; at least one of the three openings is looking for architecture skills and experience leading a development project**
Responsibilities:

·          We are seeking a Web Developer (WD) supporting a Federal agency that is in the process of migrating from the existing Adobe architecture to a system that is web-based. The new software must provide the agency with a reliable, scalable architecture that permits users to access the system via the SSA Intranet. In addition, the software should provide the ability to leverage current agency technologies and be capable of adding functionality using standard development tools (e.g. HTML, Java, and JavaScript).  There are two major efforts:
1) Refactoring and development of a system architecture to prepare for Production rollout; and,
2) Conversion of existing forms to HTML-based forms used in the new application.
·          The WD interacts with the customer and reviews requirements documentation, and interacts with the customer to glean and assess requirements. Subsequently, applies required skills to develop and unit test web-based code.  The WD develops weekly status reports to report accomplishments.

Requirements:

·          Project Management skills.
·          Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively work with the customer.
·          Ability to mentor other web developers.
·          Experience designing and implementing enterprise architectures.
·          Java, J2EE, SOA, XML, Object Oriented Analysis, JMS, DB2, SQL, JDBC, JavaScript, CSS, MKS, HTML, SSL, Web Services, SOAP, SMAL, WS-Security, WebSphere, and RAD.

Desired:

·          Knowledge and understanding of mainframe-based development and testing.
·          Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to prepare reports, briefings, and demonstrations.
·          Strong working knowledge of Windows and Office (Word and Excel).
·          Working knowledge of CMM (Capability Maturity Model) or CMMI (CMM Integrated).

Education:

·          An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with 11 years of professional experience.

***Candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance prior to beginning work***
