Position: DB2 Database Administrator/Modeler
Location: Baltimore (Gwynn Oak), MD
Rate: DOE
Description: long-term contract
**Must have 11 years with bachelors, or 9 years with masters degree**

Responsibilities:

·          Under the Disability Case Processing System program, Client supports the full range of IT integration services supporting a multi-platform computing environment, including: information systems modernization initiatives, software engineering, project management, infrastructure services, data warehousing, database administration, research, planning, security, federal enterprise architecture initiatives, research and all levels of Internet, Intranet and Web portal initiatives and migrating legacy architecture to web-based platforms. Client has an immediate need for a highly motivated Data Modeler/Architect. The candidate must be able to pass a Federal Suitability Check for a position of public trust. The candidate will be responsible for database modeling/design for a SOA based JEE based software system with a user base of 30,000 - 50,000 users. Client has an immediate need for a highly motivated Database Administrator to provide mainframe DB2 performance review in various environments (development, validation, integration, and production). Additionally, the resource will be responsible for the migration of DB2 stored procedure definitions in the DB2 catalog as the DCPS application is migrated over the lifecycle. Direct interaction with the application development team will be required.

Requirements:

·          Minimum of 11 years of IT experience.
·          At least 6 years of solid technical experience with DB2 administration on the z/OS platform.
·          Mainframe DB2 DBA experience at least at Version 8.
·          Prior experience in mainframe application development.
·          A strong knowledge of how to read/tune SQL is required.
·          Experience with CA DB2 tools.
·          Experience with Omegamon for DB2.
·          Have excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
·          Must be able to navigate in a Windows workstation setting, and have excellent knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
·          Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical. Candidate must be able to effectively interact with all levels of customer staff, and be able to flourish in a government contract setting.
·          Candidate should be able to adapt to a changing environment.

Desired:

·          Experience with database modeling (logical modeling).
·          Experience with data warehousing in the DB2 environment.
·          Experience with DB2 Version 9.
·          JEE Software Development.

Education:

·          An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with 11 years of professional experience, or a Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with  9 years of professional experience
