Position: Java Solutions Architect
Duration: 2 Years
Location: NYC
Required Skills:
1. Bachelor  degree with 12+ years of applicable work experience with at least 5 or more years of experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Team Lead

2. Demonstrated experience with systems architectural concepts and frameworks

3. Capable of translating and presenting technical concepts into practical business terms for leaders both small and large group settings

4. 10+ years of experience in enterprise platform product implementation with broad exposure to different industry leading technologies such as Java, Web Services/SOA/ESB, Messaging, Oracle, SQL, etc.

5. Knowledge and experience with Agile and object-oriented methodologies, notations, and processes: Rational Unified Process, Extreme Programming, Unified Modeling Language (UML), design patterns

6. Extensive experience designing and/or developing solutions in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

7. Familiar with Use Case Analysis, UML diagramming, Object Oriented Design and - Analysis

8. Familiar with web services, WSDL, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), XML, XSD

9. Ability to interface and influence people at multiple levels within the organization

10. Strong knowledge of all facets of systems development and operations scenarios

11. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail

12. High level of flexibility and ability to persevere through periods of significant change and challenge in the business environment

13. Experience developing or managing the development of Salesforce.com applications and web service preferred

14. Experience managing application development using Visual force and custom Apex controllers preferred

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for, but not limited, to the following:


1. Accountability for the technical components of the design and successful operation of solutions

2. Provide deep technical/architecture guidance to project teams

3. Work with Business Partners, project leadership, business analysts, data and technical architects and business sponsors to ensure that business requirements are met through developed solutions

4. Responsible for the delivery of architecture artifacts that will demonstrate the projects adherence to strategy, design patterns, and best practices

5. Responsible for the identification and availability of assets or services that can be re-used by the project teams to drive consistency, cost reduction, and increases speed to market

6. Collaborate with other architects and technical leaders across the organization to develop best practices

7. Provide detailed guidance and direction for design and implementation of development frameworks and design patterns for consumption across multiple development teams

8. Create, communicate and improve the governing principles, standards and models that detail technical landscapes by reconciling various stakeholder requirements

9. Establish and develop architectural governance team(s) and processes to guide and sanction critical architectural decisions

10. Review existing documentation and processes around human capital systems to ensure a strong understanding of existing systems
