Position :  Virtualization Engineer

Location : Brooklyn, NY

Duration :  6month+

SCOPE OF SERVICES

-       Perform administration duties required to maintain the virtualized computing environment using tools to include vCenter, vSphere, and Lab Manager;

-       Provide expertise in the design and maintenance required to ensure the high availability of the virtualized computing environment;

-       Provide technical expertise and perform tasks for all related infrastructure projects, including business continuity and disaster recovery;

-       Enforce, manage and create policies and procedures;

Provide 24x7 support of the virtualized computing environment including after-hours maintenance and on-call duties; and architecting and implementing solutions in a multi-tenant environment.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 4 years experience maintaining enterprise class virtualization infrastructure including strong experience with Windows systems and infrastructure and Linux systems as required;

- Minimum of 4 years experience and working knowledge of SAN infrastructure, protocols and enterprise class storage systems and storage related concepts as it relates to building and supporting an enterprise class virtual infrastructure;

- Minimum of 4 years experience and working knowledge of enterprise networking systems, protocols and security related concepts as it relates to building and supporting an enterprise class virtual infrastructure;

- Minimum of 4 years experience administering and supporting large complex virtual infrastructure.

- Minimum of 4 years experience designing a large scale virtualization environment;

- In-depth hands on working knowledge of VMware virtualization systems VI3 & vSphere and associated technologies, management systems and tools;

- Ability to cross train and share knowledge;

- Strong project management and task execution skills;

- Excellent analytical, oral and written communications;

- Ability to solution across multiple vendor platforms;

- Understanding of Cloud Solutions and Data Center Consolidation Solutions;

- Experience in delivering IT enterprise strategy and strategic analysis of current client infrastructures;

- Familiarity with networking and storage concepts.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

EMC Storage Experience a plus.

Converged Networking Architecture, 10 Gb, NFS and Cisco 1000v a plus.

 VMware VCP preferred.
