Archive Partner Engineer
Reporting to Application Engineering Manager
Whether it is archive applications or tiering products, it needs to be qualified for use with the Data Domain product line. In this role you will be working with the partners of Data Domain to facilitate their testing efforts. Responsibilities include creating self-certification test suites, acting as a point of contact for partner qualification efforts, and performing deep interoperability testing with key archive applications or tiering products.

What you’ll be doing – Developing and maintaining self-certification test suites for products that we will add to our matrix but not test in house. This task involves organization of reported data, automation of test cases, data collection, and reviewing results. Create new test suites appropriate for new DDOS features or products. Assist in continued dataset refinement For partner self-certification efforts: Be a point of contact for all partner technical issues. Report and track all issues. Record defects against the self-cert tests and DDOS and drive them to closure. Provide technical support to the partner throughout the testing effort. Present post-certification testing analysis Work with partner to develop introductory papers (integration guide) for the joint solution: overview, trade offs, Client markets, etc. Capture all information gathered in team wiki for ongoing reference and future comparison CSL solution test Devise internal joint solution setup according to CSL criteria Deploy solution, gradually increasing load as would occur in a real customer environment Maintain solution, adding or upgrading hardware and software as appropriate Key archive product specialist Learn assigned partner product in-depth, participating in training sessions as required Work with partner to develop more comprehensive test suites/smoke tests Validate interim product releases with joint solution Test patches developed specifically for solution-reported problems Work with partner to develop joint collateral such as case studies or white papers
Desired skills/experience – At least 10 – 12 years experience in storage industry. 5 yrs experience in a customer facing role, SE, Support, Tech Marketing, etc. Experience in software testing and/or testing development . Knowledgeable of data storage concepts, NAS, backup/restore, archive replication, snap shots. Experience working with one or more archive applications or tiering products Experience in systems troubleshooting and systems integration Hands on admin knowledge: FTP server, shell scripting, adding Luns, device discovery, SSH config, NFS, CIFS. Has written external documents, i.e., knowledge base articles, white papers, self-cert plans, etc. Scripting skills are a plus: Perl, Python, Ruby, etc. Self starter, can do attitude
