Job Position  :    PL/SQL Analyst

Location        :     Harrisburg, PA

Duration      :       1+ year

Rate              :       $45/hr.

Preference   :  face to face interview with the client is a must

The PL/SQL developer will be primarily focused on the development of extracts from the data warehouse into a packaged software application.    

This individual will serve in an Oracle data analyst and developer role for the team.  Primary responsibilities would be PL/SQL devleopment and analysis.  

The individual will need to work closely with the BA's and other IT teams to ensure understanding of complex global business requirements and alignment of priorities.  The DA is expected to apply our clients standards and provide documentation throughout the project development life-cycle, as needed.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

• Requirements analysis – work with Business Analysts and businesses to define data requirements
• Data modeling – develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to meet the needs of the business and provide a framework for all SCM applications 
• Design, construct, implement, and support the database schemas and other objects across various environments 
• Provide and maintain documentation in accordance with our clients standards – entity and attribute definitions, entity-relationship diagrams, physical database designs, schema sizing sheets, data sharing matrices
• Lead database technical reviews for new and revised database schemas
• Work with DBA team to provide schemas, table spaces, users, and roles
• Ensure backups, statistics, and monitoring is in place for new and existing databases
• Monitor, maintain, and tune existing database schemas for space, efficiency, standards, and performance on existing databases
• Consult with application analysts on query performance tuning
• Coordinate database-related knowledge transfer activities across the SCM team
• Acquire technical awareness regarding industry best-demonstrated practices through professional training
• Coordinate communication and application of database standards and practices across the SCM team
• Assist development team with SQL tuning
• Develop/Enhance PL/SQL stored procedures/functions and packages

Position Qualifications/Competencies

• Data analysis – conceptual, logical, physical (translation of business rules to design)
• Oracle – database functionality and operating environments, PL/SQL
• Proven analysis, design, and development experience with Oracle database technology (Oracle 10G or 11i experience a plus)
• Nice to have - Performance tuning (select/SQL, table, Indexes, normalization, views, etc.)
• Managing objects (views, tables, indexes, keys, constraints, security, etc.)
• Be a creative and dedicated person capable of working effectively in a team environment, or as an individual (both are needed to be a success)
• Independent and analytical thinker – identify important factors in making decisions; willing to express opinions, etc.
• Results oriented – must be able to deliver on project expectations
• Be comfortable working with different areas in diagnosing complex problems, constantly learning, and applying new technologies
• Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills
• Minimum of 5 years experience
