Job Duties:
o Monitor daily Oracle backups
o Monitor Oracle Table Spaces and Data file status for space constraints o Monitor Oracle database performance as needed o Execute and monitor data fixes as necessary o Troubleshoot remote database connections (to other Oracles and to iSeries) o Recover Oracle database from RMAN/TSM system at DR test site o Tuning of queries for better performance on iSeries and Oracle.
o Coordinate multi-platform promotions.
o Maintain appropriate level of communication with UGs vendor of choice for Oracle Support

A Senior Database Administrator should have the following skills DB2/400 experience (5 or more years) Relational Modeling Experience Experience with both command line and Ops Navigator database functionality.
Exposure to Oracle.
Experience with system and application monitoring tools.
Experience in a software development environment.
Experience with RPG/CL for the iSeries environments.
Experience with SQL/DDL and DDS for both iSeries and Oracle environments.
Experience and knowledge of Change control systems.
Familiarity with Web Based Development Technologies and Web Applications Must be willing to work on all platforms and databases in use at United Guaranty Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment Experience mentoring and cross training Working knowledge of the IFS on iSeries and transferring IFS objects using Turnover.
Working knowledge of journals on iSeries and how to use them for audit purposes.
Time management, planning, and organization skills.
Excellent oral, written communication skills.

General:
Any DB2 Universal, AIX experience, IDA and TSM experience a plus Additional Pluses:
Oracle Administration experience
DB2/400 experience
DB2 Universal
TSM experience
Knowledge of J2EE and Java
