Job Description
Skill/Experience Requirements:
•
5 + Years of
experience in administering IBM WebSphere Application Server in an Enterprise
Environment.
•
Experienced with
installation of WAS Network Deployment or Base 6.X/7.X, cluster creation,
installation of IBM HTTP Server/Apache, WebSphere fixpack deployments.
•
Demonstrated
experience working with Linux or AIX.
•
Must have a firm
understanding of concepts and technologies such as SOA, Messaging,
Transformation Engines, Web Services, and Data Integration techniques.
•
Must be willing to
learn new middleware software like Tibco and SAS along with reporting software
like Tableau and Webfocus.
•
Ability to ramp up
on new technology quickly. We are required to support our customers no matter
what platform they require. We are often asked to learn and acquire expert
level skills with unfamiliar technology in a very tight time-frame.
•
Demonstrates strong
analytic abilities and strong organizational skills.
•
Bachelor's degree.
Essential Functions:
•
Install and configure WebSphere Application Server ND, Fixpacks and patches.
•
Administration of WebSphere environments to include troubleshooting,
configuration changes, software upgrades, and application deployments.
•
Build and deploy server-side Java enterprise application components on the web
application server including web resources, http pages, JavaServer Pages,
Servlets, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) and connectors.
•
Support aggressive WebSphere/Portal release deployments to various WebSphere
environments from development to pre-production and production.
Must
be able to work on multiple tasks at the same time
•
Technical support for web application developers. Providing leadership in the
areas of standardization and best practices, as well as application trouble
shooting activities.
•
Formulate and enforce application deployment and integration standards.
