Position: VB Developer/SME

Location: Baltimore (Woodlawn), MD

Responsibilities:

·          Developer responsible for understanding written requirements and applying development skills to enhance the Document Generation System (DGS), which was initially conceived as a replacement for Word Perfect, the Word Processor previously used by ODAR. DGS is now powered by Microsoft Word along with the tools available in Access.

·          It is a Windows-based application allowing you to use your mouse in conjunction with your keyboard.

·          Primary Goals of DGS is to develop and maintain a national system consistent with HALLEX, regulations, and SSA policy; and Build the system flexible enough to meet local Hearing Office needs.  

Requirements:

·          4-5 years using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Visual Basic 6 or VB.net, MS Word forms design, and MKS Integrity Client; 11 years overall IT exp.

·          4-5 years using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, Java 1.5 or above, JSP/Servlet/Struts 1.2 or above, XML, RAD 7 or above.

·          Good knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·          Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·          Good communication skills to interact with all levels of customer staff, and be able to flourish in a contract setting.

·          Able to adapt to a changing environment.

      

Desired:

·          Experience with MS Word Autotext desired.

·          Understanding of SQL/relational database desired.

Education:

·          An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with 11 years of professional experience. A Masters degree (MA/MS) ) from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a computer related field with 11 years of professional experience will also be accepted.
