Network Security Engineer
Location:  Schaumburg, IL
Rate: $40/hr
Duration: 12 months

Position Overview:

The individual will maintain and upgrade software and hardware products that enforce IT security at remote facilities, and will design and implement configuration changes as required. The Individual will be also responsible for working with infrastructure security technologies including, but not limited to remote access (VPN), firewalls, proxy (http/https) servers, IPS/IDS', SIEM, wIPS, security auditing, and compliance reporting.

Skills:

5+ years experience in Network, design, development, deployment and operations
Strong understanding of security principles and networking protocols,
Solid working knowledge of Juniper and Netscreen firewalls
Working knowledge of different O/S Systems
Strong Understanding of URL filtering - IronPort
Strong Understanding of Anti-virus protection software - (Preferably CA eTrust)
Understanding of SPAM filtering - (Preferably Postini)
Excellent trouble shooting skills
Technically proficient with Cisco switches, Packetshapers,  Firewalls, TCP/ IP, VPNs, IDS, IDP and other networking security devices
Able to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong verbal and written skills

 MUST Have:

Strong understanding of security principles and networking protocols,
Strong Understanding of Anti-virus protection software - CA eTrust

Nice to Have:

A strong background in physical and logical network layered security implementation and best practices is preferred.
Skills and experience related to network security incident management and containment are also preferred.
Any kind of Network Security Certification will be a Plus
