Sr. Ab Initio Development Team Lead

Qualifications:
• 8+ years of Data Warehouse development experience
• 2+ years hands-on experience with Ab Initio. In-depth understanding of the GDE, core component sets (i.e. Dataset, Database, Transform, Look-up, De-partition & Partition), file management utilities and usage of environment variables.
• Directly responsible for at least 1 comprehensive Data Warehouse architecture
• Hands-on experience designing, developing and optimizing complex solutions that move and/or manipulate large volumes of data
• Hands-on experience and expertise analyzing and optimizing performance of extracts, loads and transformations
• Hands-on experience and proficiency with SQL
• Hands-on experience and proficiency with Unix and shell scripting
• Strong knowledge and use of BI/DW development methodologies, standards and procedures
• Resourceful, self starter, little supervision needed
• Good team work and communication skills
• Understanding of change management and automation/repeatability
• Ability to multi-task and provide expertise for multiple development teams across concurrent project tasks
• Experience leading onshore and offshore resources to deliver against a plan, manage and resolve issues, and report status
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively size and estimate development efforts
• Demonstrates the ability to present technical issues to non-technical audiences
Responsibilities:
• Lead the analysis, design, development and testing of the most complex of Ab Initio software components. Coach staff to contribute to and work on the complex work streams where practical.
• Establish and/or continuously improve upon development guidelines, standards and procedures (e.g. data model reviews, code reviews, etc.)
• Provide support for code promotion, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Seek ways to continuously improve upon the overall team efficiency and effectiveness
• Provide technical leadership to the development team
• Lead estimation activity for development efforts
• Manage the work assignment of resources, track and resolve issues and report status
