SQL Developer

Position : SQL Developer
Location:  Washington State
Duration: Long Term
Rate: Max, $40hr

F2F interview is must after the telephonic round.

Position Description


Major Responsibilities:
• Identify risk areas of the design and relays risk areas in the application to QA.
• Coordinate the effort between developers, QA and PM.
• Review and provide feedback on functional specifications to the team.
• Design and develop small to medium projects based on requirements.
• Recommend and adhere to quality processes such as design reviews, code reviews, version control and documentation.
• Recommend and implement best practices and appropriate design patterns.
• Execute impact analysis before modifying any existing application.
• Provide estimated time lines and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Secondary Functions:
• Maintain development standards and best practices.
• Recommend process improvements to the development cycle.
• Responsible for build and deploy process.
Job Scope:
Develops and maintains custom applications, includes, performs design work for
small to large size projects based on functional specification or scope utilizing object-oriented
methodologies.
Specific Job Skills:
• 2+ years in .net Framework application development for Web and Web services using C#.
• 5+ years developing against relational database.
• Extensive experience in designing multi-tier business applications.
• Knowledgeable with SQL Server 2005/2008, SSIS/DTS
•Must have experience on ETLs.
•Ability to analyze performance issues in an OLTP system and efficiency in solving complex problems, ability to experiment different methodologies.
•Concurrency, blocking and contention handling in OLTP system.
•Writing complex T-SQL and stored procedures.
•Indexing strategies and tuning.
•Deep knowledge of SQL internals.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work as a team player.
• Interacts with  project team which includes Project managers, Development manager, other developers, and QA.
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• Microsoft Certification in the specialized skill is a plus.
